NORTEDominican Republic
Est. 2026
A new independent cigar house from the north of the Dominican Republic.
The House
New house. Old rules.
NORTE is a new, independent cigar house, founded in 2026 in the north of the Dominican Republic. We say it plainly: we are new.
The way we work is not. We keep to the slow, conservative rules of the tobacco world, because they are the reason a good cigar tastes the way it does. We are not a factory, we answer to no group, and every cigar is made to a recipe of our own.
Independent
No corporate owner and no shortcuts. Every decision about a blend is ours.
Patient
Tobacco sets the pace. We cure, age and rest it for as long as it needs.
Faithful to tradition
Rolled by hand, the Dominican way, with respect for the craft and the people who keep it alive.
Origin
It starts with the leaf.
Every NORTE blend begins as a recipe. Some of the tobacco we grow ourselves. The rest we buy from Dominican growers we trust, or import when a recipe calls for a leaf from further away. What matters is not where a leaf comes from, but whether it is right for the blend.
Grown
On our own land in the north of the Dominican Republic.
Bought
From Dominican growers whose tobacco we know.
Imported
When the recipe asks for a leaf from abroad.
Craft
Slow by design.
- 01
Cure
The leaves hang in wooden barns until their colour and aroma settle.
- 02
Age
Bales of tobacco rest for months, sometimes years, before they are used.
- 03
Blend
Filler, binder and wrapper are brought together to the recipe.
- 04
Roll
Every cigar is rolled by hand by an experienced torcedor.
- 05
Rest
Finished cigars rest again before they leave the house.
The First Line
Four classic vitolas.
Our first release is in preparation. It will come in four classic sizes, each rolled to the same standard.
